Harvesting the Wind

$210.00

Harvesting The Wind is about my exploration with the elemental understanding of Air.

I have always had a hard time connecting with this element. Even though it is the very element that keeps us alive on this planet. Learning to breathe and embracing the wind that sometimes rips through our lives has been a challenge.

I found through the process of glassblowing that wind play a huge part in helping to cool hot glass in moments of need when making a particular form. When I pulled hot molten glass in a fast motion it becomes stringlike and reminding of what it is like to harvest string or herbs from the garden. And so I realized I was harvesting the air the wind and therefore starting to embrace this element.
